				<title>Orks Vs. the New Guard... Any Ideas?</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ So I'm trying to put together my first 1500 point Ork list to combat the new Imperial Guard.  Right now I'm kind of lost as to what build I should take.  I think I'm leaning towards using a Battlewagon/Trukk/Killa Kan/ charge under cover of a Mek's Kustom Force Field combined with nasty flankers - Snikrot/Deff Koptas and hordes of cheap Gretchin (2-3 Units of 29 Gretchin) to hold the rear.  I'm not sure if this approach is terribly inspired… does anyone have any suggestions about how to crack the nut that is 5th ed Guard with Orks?<br /> ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Gretchen are probably not worth anything, for the simple fact that they never were. You could take 10 with a minder for 40 pts to grab objectives, but they die if they get touched, as grotz always have. <br /> <br /> Honestly, I dont think 5th edition guard really changes up the orks philosophy terribly, it just makes some of the old gimmick lists ineffective. A well balanced list ought to have a decent time against the new codex.<br /> <br /> Outflanking seems key, and more than ever Snikrot seems worth taking, but with the modifiers that guard can put on reserves it seems if you are unlucky at rolling reserves he may not be such a good idea.<br /> <br /> A mek with <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(163);'>kff</span> supporting kanz is always a good idea. They can shoot down armor, if properly equipped, and are remarkably survivable. Kanz also can <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span> with enemy tanks (mine tend to eat landraiders). <br /> ]]></description>

A couple of your mobs might die on the way, but when you get to them, those Gourdsmans and tanks will die faster than you can say WAAAGH!!!<br /> <br /> Shiny tanks a good army does not make.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ The problem with the colossus is that it has a 24" minimum range, which means you get maybe one shot off with it before Orcs get under its arc of fire.<br /> <br /> The Vendetta missiles are less than exciting, pretty much a one shot pony (and a waste of points <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(71);'>IMHO</span>, you would be better with a valk and rocket pods, which will do more damage against a horde if it gets two rounds of shooting).]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ For the colossus you can also keep it in reserve and force the orks to come at you from one flank and then have it come in on your far board edge corner so then they would ideally have to travel from way off to ever get to it. I dunno how the Nob bikers will do as the surprise factor is now gone and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(69);'>IG</span> now has the shots to dump at the Bikers, After all I doubt they would live through a "Bring It Down" and a "First Rank Fire! Second Rank Fire!" or their new squadrons of Tanks...<br /> <br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(71);'>IMHO</span>, A combination of Horde and Mek is the way to go... having a lot of tanks/walkers and dense troops will over-saturate them with targets... <br /> <br /> <br /> ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Grotzooka... they are just that good at killing infantryman... <br /> <br /> But watch out for the assault as they now can get Furious charge and Counterattack... this leads to a lot of dead Orks that wished they had a high initiative. I would review what units can do what with my opponent so you do not lose 11 boyz to a unit of conscripts because they had furious charge and counter attack... <br /> <br /> Large units of Boyz is also a nice blessing as this makes them hard to break with shooting... <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(69);'>IG</span> got really good at horde shooting since the last Codex... <br /> <br /> <br /> ]]></description>
