Whilst I don't have a small house I do have a family and its not practical for me to keep half painted models on the table and boxes of unpainted stuff lying around. I have an old Games Workshop case without the foam with all my paints and brushes chucked in and now I am modelling the Realm of Battle table I have spray cans and flock everywhere. Not to mention all the rule books and everything else.

I'm sure I can get some storage sorted, but I wondered how others do it without interfering with the family home or flat mates, but also making it easy and hassle free to get on with your painting hobby.

I'd love some way of keeping my current projects and paints all to hand, but easy enough to stow away.

Also a great one I find is beds with storage space underneath them. Along the same lines, if you own your house, add an addition. But seriously, I keep various projects I'm working on in their own plastic storage boxes so I won't lose their parts. I try to keep them sorted by stage of work. I have primed miniatures and things in one box, pieces that need to be pinned, I have in another box, pieces that need finishing touches go in another box.

Work and keep it as messy as you want, then it closes up nicely so your mess is hidden. Keeps everyone happy. Also if you need to it would be fairly easy to add a lock or latch to keep the little ones out.

Also got a closet in the garage



Makes it so much easier to sneek in new stuff if needed

That computer armoire is really, really slick. Aside from storage space, it has everything. That's a damned good find and well worth the $300 price tag if you don't have the dedicated space for your hobbying needs.
