Powdery finish with Army painter spray

I just sprayed my 3rd Realm of Battle tile and they have all been fine, but this time I did the usual spraying the rocks chaos black primer then after that dried sprayed over that with army painter brown. i noticed when it was drying that it was powdery in places as it dried. It's not so much of a problem here as I will flock and I was able to save the rocks.

i just wondered why this may have happened?

My chaos black was on its last bit in the can.

Any tips? It is a bit warm today I guess, but not that warm

Usually, that dusty, powdery texture happens when the can is too far away from the surface you're priming. The paint dries before it hits and creates that fuzzy texture. I'm not sure if this is what you're describing, but it kinda sounds like it.

Ghidorah

That sounds exactly right, it wasnt that far away, but there was a bit of wind at one point.

Thanks

I guess it's time to clear out the garage for spraying!
