It's just too good to pass up. I have a feeling I'd be able to be at least nominally important enough to be granted a favored status amongst one of their cults. Possibly enough to be considered worthy enough to live.

If it occurred suddenly I think many people would question their current faith pretty heavily. The demonizing (lol) of the Chaos Gods would probably be a lot less in the real world unless it was coming from one of the already existing churches. You can see a Chaos Gods miracles, they mutates their followers and cause psychic manifestations. But what has God done lately? One could keep claiming all the everyday events one normally does as being an act of God. But if you see a Chaos God actually make something happen as you worship him/her it's a much more powerful experience. Because you asked, and very directly, you were granted something.

It's a hard choice to make. Are they evil? Are they good? It's probably more in between if you want to bring up the real world.

I fear each one of the things each of the Chaos Gods represents so much. Plague brings suffering, rage brings loneliness, pleasure brings withdrawal, plotting brings death.

I also don't believe in the real world that worship to any of the Chaos Gods would be as all out as it is in the fluff unless you are one of the most devoted followers.

I sort of disagree, If chaos gods entered our world then I think the opposite would become true aswell. It wasn't untill people started realizing the power of chaos that the emperor became as powerful as he did. This is primarily due to the fact that people started to believe in him, thus turning him into a god. In our world, if we began to see daemonic manifestations then we would turn to God, first and foremost. Its human nature. This will make him even more powerful and his works might be become more readily seen. I do agree, that alot of people will also turn to a new power. There would be a great divide because how zealously monotheistic Christianity is. Things would be similar to the fluffy atmosphere after a period of time.

I disagree, as soon as people start seeing the god's works, the flood of emotion generated / the amount of "belief" in their existence produced, would rapidly turn people into what we see in the fluff. Experiencing an active god would shatter our world.

Which, to me, makes it a pretty insidious thing. I mean, if G-daddy Nurgle popped up today offering love, compassion, and a little extra toughness (har har) to anyone who wanted it (sure, it comes with a little cancer on the side, but what's a tumor between friends) I can see his worship really taking off. Especially, as has already been said in this thread, since it'd be one of the first four 'active gods'.

IF Chaos where real and I could follow them I would despite the risks why? Well I would rather follow Gods that take an active part in the lives of their followers, Gods that you know are real due to their actions, not because some book says so. I would rather live and die in the service of Gods who may reward me than a God that sits idly by and watches, his people suffer. So when it comes down to it, I would rather be the one causing the suffering and risk dying or being turned into a spawn, than take the suffering and receive nothing.

With tzeentch, I could pretend not to be one of the instantly converted to the new faiths, and all snugly infiltrate some all-chaos-clean company (or better yet, an older faith) and then do something really outragious (not sure what, but I am getting there.). Do it in long steps, risking body parts to the minimum amount, and doing it slowly, the chance of success is greatly increased.
