I just recently got into warhammer 40k and this is my first army. I was really debating on the Deff Dread and Killia Kans. It was either that or taking 5 Deffkoptas with Rokkit Launhcas and Bigbomms. I was also throwing around the idea of having 6 Mega Nobs running around in a Trukk. I was looking into Battlewagons but my funds were a little low so im forced to go footsloggin =). Give that Nob with the Big Choppa a Powerklaw instead. It is WELL worth the points. Give both Nobs Bosspoles.

Spend leftover points on Killa Kans.

I wanted to give the second Nob a PK but i didnt have one laying around in my bits. As soon as i get one that beast is going on the second nob.

Ill kick the Deff Dread and maybe get another Kan.

The only thing im worried about is the lack of Anti Tank bustin. Thats why i was thinking about the Coptas. What do you think?

This Is a good Foot Slogin army. It's got 4 boyz squads of 30 which will realyl pack a punch a truck for 1 squad to get around quickly & 3 Killa Kans for a bit of heavy support

I was trying to stay away from the trukk and if anything get the battlewagon for the Kans.

Reliably moving 6 inches, for an 18" assault thread range, is going to be the game decider against Gun Line armies, and mobile armies, the two armies you are going to have trouble with.

As far as AT goes, all you need is PKs and furious charge, Orks are terrible at ranged AT, that is their big weakness.

if you're ballsy, and just need a few more boyz, you could drop all the Kans and Dreds, and take a unit of lootas. They can pop transports, or medium infantry.

Or you could grab a Big Mek with KFF and make all your Boyz more surviveable.

Are the Shoota boys really worth it? It seems that orks are fairly poor at ranged when it comes to the Ork Boyz. Would it be more beneficial to change the Shootas to Sluggas giving me 3x 30 Sluggas. On the flip side it seems like having some kind of range would be nice. After all, there are 30 of them so a few are bound to hit.

Looking at the Lootas, i would rather not drop my Kans. I'm getting rid of the Dread and getting more Kans for the points. But i really love the Kans so i doubt ill drop them for Lootas.

What Orks lack in accuracy they make up for in sheer volume of fire, shoota boyz are mean and nasty at shooting, especially if the dice gods love you, they are also better than most units in assault, even without the additional attack from the 2 CC weapons. Pretty much every competitive list i've seen that doesn't involve 2 squads of Nob Bikers is focused around shoota boys.

Kans are cool too, whatever floats your battle barge, it is better to have an army you have fun with than an army you win more often with.
