Here is what I have in my list.

1 Librarian with The Gate of Infinity and Vortex of Doom and Vortex of Doom 100pt
10 Tactical Marines with flamer and melta 160pt
5 Scouts 75pt
Land Speeder with Heavy Flamer and Heavy Bolter 60pt

I often don't have a lot of time, so this works nicely. Also gives you a way to try new units before real deployment. It does play very differently though.

Is there a reason you wrote Vortex twice?

I personaly don't like taking HQ in 400pt lists, but he could still be quite effective. It's got nice balance, i'd take it on.
