Pask and crack shot.

I have read this entry 50 times now. I used the search function on the forums and read 6 threads that say different things. Someone needs to spell this rule out clearly, without making any assumptions.

Here is what I read on pg 58 of the new IG codex -Special rules section.

Crack Shot - First Paragraph (I am paraphrasing)
- The the vehicle did not move "...all shots made by Pask's Leman Russ that turn benefit from the Crack Shot Rule"

It then goes on in the second paragraph.
-"If using the Crack Shot rule when firing against a vehicle..."

Then the last paragraph says.
-"If using the Crack Shot rule when firing at a monstrous creature...."

So as I see this, the first paragraph says you can use the Crack Shot rule. The second and third paragraph tells me how to apply the Crack Shot rule to a vehicle and a monstrous creature. My question is, where does it tell me how to use the Crack Shot rule against infantry or anything else?

Gwar! wrote:It's simple, it has no effect on non-vehicles or non-Monstrous Creatures. Why would you think it does?

Because in the following paragraphs it tells me how to apply crack shot to a vehicle or a creature - this indicates a modifier from its original purpose. It reads like they left out the crack shot definition -sourced somewhere else? - and goes on to tell us how to modify the rule to apply to a vehicle or Monstrous creature.

Yes, it tells you how to apply it to them, because that is what the rule does. It helps you kill MC and vehicles.

Where in the rule does it state its effect on Non-MC or non-vehicles? Nowhere, so it has no benefits against them (Short of a S8 AP3 pieplate to the face).

In short: No, you are not missing anything. Crack Shot does not do ANYTHING except against MC and vehicles.

Re:Pask and crack shot.

The fluff bit above the rule explains the idea of it. He is able to take precise aim at weak spots on armor and the like if he is parked. If you're firing at infantry don't bother sitting still. I honestly only think pask is worth it on a lone Vanquisher. Anything else doesn't make adequate use of the points.
