Space Marine - Test Combat Squad

Finally got around to working on getting my paint scheme done for my space marines. These are the rank and file guys, some are still missing static grass but for the most part this is the level of painting they'll all have.

I'm debating doing my sargeant's and veterans with white helmets, possible even change up one of the shoulder pads inner colors or something like that as well.

Going to hopefully get the rest of this squad done in the next two weeks, once I get back from a vacation. Trying to decide if I want to do something unique with the power fist, missile launcher and flamer.

After these first 10, I have ~100 more regular marines and ~110 scouts. Yay, apocalypse!

They look good. Nice neat paint job. I think you might want to consider doing something else to distance them from ultramarines though, if you want them to represent a different chapter, as the blue and gold is signature for UM, and I don't think the black power packs is enough to distinguish them. Purely a matter of taste though.

Re:Space Marine - Test Combat Squad

Thanks for the comments. I'm trying to keep them loosely themed to Ultramarines in core colors. Fluff wise they all started off as Ultramarines gradually picking up field repairs, hense the mixing of chaos bits. Knee pads, elbow pads and helmets get a different armor color. Backpacks were just a quick dry brush of bolt gun metal. Some of the units to come will also have weathering done on them, which will bring out hints of dark grey. I may even go back and simulate some battle damage on some of the armor plates of the non-based coated models and hit them with a thin coat of primer.

I'm working on ideas now on how to tie in the scout company, which should share some similarities to show army consistency, just haven't hit upon exactly what that will be yet.
