[1800]-Dark Eldar- Warmasters Ontario Tournament Circuit

I have played with a list very similar to this for about 30 games or so and have had some very good results. The Dark Eldar list has proven to be a challenge for gameplay and there are many options in the army list that are not considered "good". As a veteran player I have found a great refreshment in playing a list that is in such contrast to my Black Templars... then again DE can hit like a tonne of bricks but one mistake on the tabletop and they die VERY quickly... ok so, there are a few things that I have tried to avoid while making the list.. for one Yes, I DO like tough lists but I wanted to work away from MIN-Maxing as much as I could in the list itself... ok well this list is not the final draft but is pretty much the outline of what I will be taking.

HQ/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- 356pts
Archon- Shadow Field, Combat Drugs, Agonizer, Splinter Pistol, PLasma Grenades, Trophy Rack- 138pts
Retinue-
4 Incubi, 1 Warrior, PLasma Grenades- 118pts
Raider Transport- 55pts

Heamonculus- Scissor hands, Destructor- 45pts

Troops/------------------------------------------------------------------ 659pts
Raider Squad 1
9 Warriors, Splinter Cannon, Blaster - 87
Raider Transport- 55

Raider Squad 2
8 Warriors, Splinter Cannon, Blaster - 87
Raider Transport- 55

Raider Squad 3
8 Warriors, Splinter Cannon, Shredder - 84
Raider Transport, Horrorfex - 60

Raider Squad 4 (The Heamy would usually run here)
7 Warriors, Splinter Cannon - 53
Raider Transport, Horrorfex- 60

Raider Squad 5
5 Warriors, Dark Lance - 50
Raider Transport- 55

Elites/------------------------------------------------------------------------- 388pts
Wych Squad 1-
7 Wyches, (one upgraded to succubus)- Agonizer, Trophy Rack, Wych Weapons, Plasma Grenades, Blaster- 134
Raider Transport, Horrorfex- 60

Wych Squad 2-
7 Wyches, (one upgraded to succubus)- Agonizer, Trophy Rack, Wych Weapons, Plasma Grenades, Shredder- 139
Raider Transport- 55

Heavy Support/------------------------------------------------------------- 405pts
Ravager, 3 Dark Lances, Night Shield - 125

Ravager, 3 Dissintegrators, Night Shield- 140

Ravager, 3 Dissintegrators, Night Shield- 140

Total- 1800pts ------------------- 36% Troop
12 Dark Lances
3 Blasters
4 Splinter Cannon
3 Horrorfexes
6 Disintegrators
1 Destructor
2 Shredder
58 Infantry
11 Tanks

A HELUVALOT of kill points - Cant do nothing about that, hehe

So What do you think?

Im not a fan of the webway in 5th. It is very hard to hide your webway carrier... Especially at such a large point value, usually an entire army firing at one or two units with a web way can mean a swift end to the tactic. Plus, with 24" movement, you can get anywere you need to be pretty easily.

Well, I'd drop the Archon's retinue, since Incubi can't FoF and Warriors die too easily in cc. A lone Archon is a already cc monster.
Moreover, I'd drop the Haemonculus as this guy sucks.
I'd use the remaining points to beef up the Wyches; Wych squads should have two blasters.

Looks good, but I'm not a fan of the 5 man squad w/ dark lance in the raider.

I'm pretty sure I understand what you intention is, to drop them on a far away objective and just snipe. But in practice it's a waste of points and game turns. Manuvering that small, weak squad that needs to be staitionary to take advantage of its only viable attack(the DL shot) is a lot of micro managing for a unit that can easily be countered.

I just revised a 1500pt list from a event this weekend to look similiar to this.

I'm planning on 3 Haemonculi though, with just Destructors. Poisoned blades are useless in my opinion against T4 on up, only because you don't get to reroll. They will be with three of my Raider squads.

I sort of agree with Wuestenfux on the Retinue. Personally I'd go only with Incubi, that one Warrior just isn't going to do much as a extra wound. Sure you can't FoF, but with 12-24" movement then 12" move and assault you should be more then close to get into CC.

few suggestions.

Drop the Hemonculous they just aren't worth it since its an IC and a KP.

Why does everything have trophy racks? Are they really necessary?

Why does everything have trophy racks? Are they really necessary?

This tiny little piece of wargear can be a life-saver for the Wyches in cc, since it increases the leadership of the Succubi.
My Succubi never go out without it.

As for the original list, I would say drop the retinue and Haemie and use the points to get a wyche dracite and make one of your wyche squads her retinue and get night shields for the rest of your raiders.

I would drop the raiders to all 5 man make sure they all have blaster and cannon. Those extra warriors really do no good as you should not be leaving the raiders and extra splinter shots are not that important. Use the points get more Hemis, the destructor is one of the best flamers in the games and being you can have it come from any part of the raider you can max the number of people under it. Drop the blasters/shredder from the Wyches you really do not want them doing two jobs at once. You should be dropping tanks and you want to make sure your opponent does not remove possiable assaults from the wyches because you shot them from wytches
