Fallen- new project!!!

Hi there so when I first got into this hobby over 10 years ago I played Dark Angels I loved their background. to this day I still enjoy the back story but have changed more to the embracement of things on a more dark side level

Anyway I have gotten bored with my little green men, since I have read the old Angels of darkness book and now the new fallen angels book (which I am hoping through my reading will be better than descent of angels) I want to redo my army but as the fallen. any ideas to improve upon would be great as I am plannign to use the current dark angels models mix in some Black Templars parts such as helmets(possibly even re working soem khorne berzerker helmets) and I was thinking of testing the waters with this true scale stuff i keep hearing about.

one question with this endeavour is that I have some exceptionally converted and painted guys that are black and green armored and I would love to still use them in my army but I dont want to strip the models would a fallen army be considered ok if it was part green part black ( i will post some pics later about what I am talking about )

Re:Fallen- new project!!!

Go all black with maybe repaired armored parts in boltgun metal to represent unpainted spots. VERY worn and old armor. Try to find pictures of pre-heresy armor and copy that. Having a fallen angel leading a group of marines is proably a good idea. It could represent a band of "pirates" which some fallen have sunken to being. Even CSM but with DA rules.

Well, with the special models then yeah but remember in the fluff that one fallen angel is like a monster compared to a normal marine. A Single Fallen angel or maybe a couple would be a good idea, there is even a fluff story about 10 fallen holding up a bunker that fought off the Deathwing for some time and killed 12 terminators (fluff wise thats like holy $*%&) so a Command squad + a Chapter Master would be a cool idea to be the "fallen" themselves.

I had thought of using fallen but using things like Grey Knights.

I am doing a Dark Angels 2nd founding chapter (haven't picked one yet maybe Disciples of Caliban or maybe my own) and I have a group of PAGK that I modeled from DA Vets and called them "Hunters of the Fallen". You could do a similar thing and it makes sense because of how good GK's are it represents how good fallen are.

An army of the fallen would be wierd though because only Cypher himself could really even get even like 6 of them together at one time.

I have seen armies of fallen before that the players have used with both DA and Chaos rulesets. Awesome idea I think. I see no problem with keeping the same colors. If you are willing you could simply put red X's over their dark angel insignia or cover it up in other ways.
