Daemon Prince conversion sizes

Hey guys, first post ever, because I wanted to get some opinions on an idea I had.

I've been thinking about doing a sortof scratchbuild figure for my Slaanesh Daemon Prince, because I've never really liked any of the models available, since I wanted something more elegant and stately, rather than ferocious. I've considered doing a Deceiver conversion, or even Daemon-ing up a St. Celestine, but I'm also looking at other statuettes and figurines that could be converted.

So, my question is twofold. First of all, how tall do you think a Monstrous Creature like a DP can be without being unfair or inappropriately sized? I'm having trouble finding appropriate models less than six inches tall, which seems a little big to me. Secondly, if you have any suggestions for other things to make elegant Daemons out of, please don't hesitate to mention them.

I would defenately think that a deceiver could work but St Celestine is too small!!

One model that would be really good for a Slaanesh conversion is the Severina and Sevora Devout from the Inquisitor range. They're the right size and are very graceful and have slender weapons and tight body suits.

This is the link-

http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1290364&prodId=prod1110235

Thanks for the suggestions! I've heard Inquisitor models are a good scale for this kind of project, and some of them look quite good. The Severina/Sevora package might be cool if I ever want to use the "Lash Twins" concept, even though it's mega-cheesy. I'll have to think about it.

alanedomain wrote: Secondly, if you have any suggestions for other things to make elegant Daemons out of, please don't hesitate to mention them.

Reaper offers a bunch of succubi, but most of them are a bit small. These figures are a bit bigger but also less elegant:
2633 (6-armed medusa, like the old Slaanesh character Dechala the Denied One)
14088 (demonic sorceress with leather straps)

There's also Hasslefree's Imogen

This is a pretty elegant Rackham figure, but it's not female.
This is a set of 2 elegant figures, but they aren't very big either.
Rackham Succubus

Most of the smaller figures can be bulked up by adding wings and putting them on big sculpted bases.

For any reason other than an aesthetic choice, I don't see why there must be a correlation between physical size and power when it comes to daemons. Chaos is supposed to be, ya know, chaotic, so there should definitely be room for human-sized daemons that are inordinately powerful. As long as they are mounted on the correct base for what you want to represent I'd say pretty much anything goes.

You could model it bigger if you wanted. If anyone tries to pull the LOS advantage card you can say "hey, he is bigger so you can see him too" it goes both ways so size shouldn't matter. I plan on using a set of balrog wings which are huge on the standard DP model. Wings don't count in LOS but they make the model huge.

Watsabi wrote:it goes both ways so size shouldn't matter.

Bigger doesn't matter, but smaller does, since you could hide a small CC-oriented DP behind terrain it ordinarily would not be able to. Substituted/converted/scratch-built models should be about the same size (or bigger) than their GW originals, or be prepared to be very generous when allowing your opponent LOS.
