				<title>Viable IG HQ weapons loadouts?</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ Simply put, what are some good weapon combinations for the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(69);'>IG</span> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span> Command Squad presuming they aren't mounted on a chimera and I'll be using them as part of a gunline to give orders and sit-and-shoot?<br /> <br /> I was planning on having two plasmaguns and a lascannon but wanted to consider some other options.<br /> Would 2 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(380);'>GLs</span> go better with an autocannon or <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(51);'>HB</span>?<br /> Sniper rifles and either a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(51);'>HB</span> or <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(5);'>AC</span>?<br /> Other ideas?<br /> <br /> Or should I ditch the special weapons and just throw in a Vox and a heavy weapon?<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Admittedly, part of the reason I want to try other weapons is because I want to continue to use my Mordian models in my <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span> unit and don't want to chop any up to make Mordians with plasguns. (in contrast, sniper rifles would be pretty easy to convert)<br /> ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ the only way I can think of fielding them without a vehicle would be with 4 sniper rifles and camo cloaks, as a sort of mini-ratling squad (though about the same price). Their only real use is to hide out with advisors (particularly a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(373);'>MoO</span>, though astropath is good here too), and use bring it down to chew on monsterous creatures. There are much better uses for the 90 points though.<br /> <br /> They really aren't a durable enough for serious investment, but if you really twisted my arm to play a foot-slogging <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'><span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(338);'>CCS</span></span> I'd go either 4 flamers or 4 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(380);'>GLs</span>. The flamers are probably far more deady, but 4 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(380);'>GLs</span> can give you a bit of threat to <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(93);'>MC</span> (which you should be melta-ing <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(325);'>tbh</span>) while still being a cheap order giver.]]></description>

But if they're holding back, surrounded by 50+ guardsmen, I'm less concerned about their squishiness. They aren't going to be a high priority target to my opponent.  I plan on using the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'><span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(338);'>CCS</span></span> for 3 things: 1) Issuing Orders 2) <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(373);'>MoO</span> 3) Taking advantage of Vets's <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(14);'>BS</span>.   <br /> <br /> I just wondered what would be a good way of attaining the last one. ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Flamers are a tough sell for me, as without a vehicle, they'll have a hard time getting in range to really hit the enemy.  Being in the open, regardless of how many other units are around, makes these guys very vulnerable.  Camo cloaks, body guards and/or a medic will be necessary to keep them from getting nuked.<br /> <br /> With a medic, I think plasma guns look more reasonable.  Grenade launchers aren't a bad alternative...cheap, decent range and strength.  A lascannon wouldn't hurt for threatening stuff all across the board.  Kind of depends on what the rest of your army has/needs.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Right. Flamers are right out, so to say.  Range is terrible and not worth risking it in the off chance a large unit comes that close without charging. <br /> <br /> I felt about the same way with meltas...just too few firing opportunities before a unit is on top of the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'><span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(338);'>CCS</span></span>.<br /> <br /> I'm glad to hear, however, that the general consensus is that <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(380);'>GLs</span> are once again viable options. Less so for <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(95);'>MEQs</span> but still decent.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I run 2 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'><span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(338);'>CCS</span></span> (one with the classic 4x Meltaguns in a Chimera or in a valk depending on the points value) the other one which is a beauty for me is 3x Sniper rifles and vox caster with camo cloaks. They almost never get targeted and when they do... i just go to ground laughing as my opponents wastes there shots (2+ Cover Save!!!).  They're basically in existence to babysit my blob squad sitting on an objective; giving orders all game and taking pot shots at random units. ]]></description>

				<title>Viable IG HQ weapons loadouts?</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ My <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'><span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(338);'>CCS</span></span> seems to run a similar role to yours, with a loadout of lascannon, vox and a regimental standard.  The vox is okay, but the standard is the most valuable as it keeps the rest of the gunline in check without the need for commissars blowing each sergeants head off!  The 2 lasguns (with the vox / standard) are mostly wasted as I target vehicles and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(93);'>MCs</span> but I think the benefits of their other equipment makes this worthwhile.  My next addition to this <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'><span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(338);'>CCS</span></span> will be an <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(373);'>MoO</span> who will in fit in with the role of the squad perfectly.  Incidentally I also use carapace armour - expensive at 4 points per model but the models look great (<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(71);'>IMHO</span>!).<br /> <br /> Also, not got the rulebook to hand, but if the 'Bring It Down' order lets you re-roll 'Gets Hot' wounds then plasma guns would be a great option.  BS4 rapid fire plasma with re-roll to hit - maybe I need to rethink my loadout!]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I like to take two <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'><span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(338);'>CCS</span></span>. One with two plasma guns, a medkit and some advisors, the other with meltaguns and a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(105);'>PF</span>. The first stays back to babysit, the other goes with any attacking elements to cause damage and draw fire (I bury it in a blob usually). Anybody without a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(124);'>SW</span> gets laspistol/combat weapon. I have orders coverage, anti-armor/term, and some limited counter attack potential.  ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I run my <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'><span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(338);'>CCS</span></span> in a Chimera with 4 Plasma guns as my anti terminator squad. Although I run a mech <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(69);'>IG</span> army I still think this combo is viable for any gunline because of its simple yet brutal effectiveness. If a group of terminators deep strikes or loads out of a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(87);'>LR</span> close to your position just move up 12' unload your <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'><span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(338);'>CCS</span></span> and rapid fire 8 BS4 plasma shots into that group of terminators, if you manage to kill ONLY two terminators then you make up your points cost, but more likely you will come out with 3-4 dead terminators.]]></description>
