All questions of "best"-ness are relative. It comes down to what you need filled in your army. What is the rest of your army doing, and what aren't they doing. Nurgle DPs can be great anti-horde with a sturdy T6 and Nurgle's Rot. Even with 6's needed to wound a big ork mob holds its own against a nurgle DP just fine, and statistically the DP dies first if it's not supported with another unit.

Like most other things in the Chaos codex (maybe aside from the troops options) Greater Daemons are a pretty lackluster option... but still represent a better choice than the other HQs.

Some popular builds:
Mark of Nurgle, warptime, wings. This one is dead killy, dead hard to kill, and dead speedy.

Mark of slaanesh, lash of submission. Wings optional. Usually sits in cover and lashes stuff, or with wings moves, lashes stuff into killing range, and then assaults.

Mark of tzeentch, warptime, winds of chaos or doombolt, wings, like mark of nurgle, but better vs lascannons and other anti-tank weapons that are usually pointed at DPs.

Mark of khorne, wings.
Daemon Prince questons

I play Emperor's Children, so the only build I really make is wings and lash of submission slaanesh princes.

I have run one lash, one warptime before and really it just focusses fire on the lash before idly killing the warptime. With two lash I've had games where good movement choices have left the enemy splitting his fire more.

Nevertheless, I've had many games where I've lashed very little, particularly with mechanized armies. My princes end up in a tank-hunting role, especially against the Imperial guard. Daemon princes do a great job of smashing apart squadrons of leman russes!

Not really. MoS with Warptime is miles better than Lash if your army isn't built around Lash. Striking at I6 S6 with WS7 and re-rolling all of your dice is amazing for CC. You swing first against everything but a Broodlord and kill someone with nearly every attack. Nurgle helps it while it is getting to CC though, which is very important as well. I'd like to see a cheap Gift spam DP of Tzeentch though. I'd give considerable CC power to an army style that inherently lacks it, while not taking away from the main goal of the army (turn everyone into Spawn).
