And something struck me. Every single time Palpatine uses his Force Lightning, it goes tits up.

Mace Windu reflects it back, nearly killing him.

Yoda causes some kind of feedback, and only doesn't go on to kill Palpatin due to a dodgy landing and taking his chance to leg it.

And we all know what happened when he used it on Luke, don't we (oooarrr Maaaastur. Get thee down thar shaft...oooooarrr!).

From this, I can only conclude the Emperor was very much an optimist, believing 'third times a charm'. I think you may very well be right, he also seems to cackle every time he does it... maybe he has a electric fetish of some kind!

I am pretty sure we could make an anti-force lightning campaign commercial out of his better pictures. I will start it up .
