Raw Materials

I'm using GW's Water effect and I love the results; however, since GW sells PVA and super glue for about $10 dollars US I was wondering if the Water Effect can be purchased also under a generic name at one tenth the cost. If so can you tell me the name of the product or material I'm looking for?

Also I've been looking through some of the modeling sections and I've seen a fair number of models that appear to be converted using sections of thin white plastic. I'm guessing this is plasticard. Can anyone suggest a US company to buy some from and approximatly what thikness I'd want?

Thanks guys.

Yeah well GW was right for me the first time. Man was I embarassed when I figured out my $10 dollar bottle of PVA glue was the same as standard $1.50 Elmers glue. That's what I get for not doing my research before hand.

Oh well. Fool me once... Fool me twice...

Fool me once, shame on ... shame on you. Fool me twice... it fool me... we can't get fooled again.

Personally I'm one of those guys (TFG) that insists on buying everything from anyone other than GW. I buy foundation paints and that's it. All their hobby supplies are horrendously overpriced. If the products were of an exceptional quality then sure, pay for it. But they rarely are.

Oh I bought the GW snips, they're pretty good.
