Tournement winning lists

Can somebody link to some lists that have won recently (5th edition rules with IG if possible)?

I just wanted to see the difference between them and my - this looks fun to play type of armies.

Thanks in advance!

Clarification: I meant 5th edition tournaments played since IG update. My main army is Orks but I really don't care what lists I look at. I just enjoy the "mathhammer/find the best build" part of the game a lot as well.

Continuing to advocate piracy on Dakka will result in disciplinary action. Please refrain from doing so. Thank you. - Iorek

You'll need to know the general capabilities of each army.

As a means to help you get to know each codex, build a few armies with them. Post about them. People will tell you how it is by how they want to change your list. It will take a lot less time and money then buying every single codex and playing with each army (even if they are just proxy armies).

Sorry about the confusion, as I said in my original post edit, I just enjoy the army building aspect about as much as playing the game (probably spend more time doing the building than playing).

You wouldn't train for something without looking to the pro's for guidance. I don't see why looking at what is doing well couldn't help me become a better builder.

Thanks

That is why they made army builder. It doesnt tell you everything but it does give you a general description of how things work. Im not saying to go out and buy every codex and army just get a feel for how each army works.
I won a small store tournament with the following list:

CCS, Standard, melta x3, Chimera

PCS, flamer x4, Chimear
squad w/ AC/GL
Squad w/ AC/GL

PCS, flamer x4, Chimear
squad w/ AC/GL
Squad w/ AC/GL

Vets, melta x3, Chimera

Vets, melta x3, Chimera

Vets, melta x3, Chimera

LRBT x2

Executioner

Executioner

It wasn't real high octane tournament, but it never even struggled in the three games. The platoon squads basically just serve to hold objectives and not provide a small amount of anti-transport, the russes do the heavy lifting of killing MEQs (all three opponents were MEQ), and the vets are just awesome.

Re:Tournement winning lists

Some show their lists and some keep them pretty close to the chest. I have been playing Necrons lately and have taken one of every type of unit in the codex at 2000pts. Yes, even pariahs. The army has been doing fantastic. Super fun and very diverse. Would it win in a competitive tournament environment? Probably not. But I would not have a problem taking it to a RTT. These lists you will see all the time. Plus lots of theory hammer lists as well. People tend to do lots of cut and pasting of armies on dakka. However, what tends to do well often differs in actual tournaments, than what is seen here. Mech vets are a great example. Only like 3 to 5 guard players even qualified. So easy to say, back to the drawing board on that one.

Take the Ard Boys tourny for example. Few people post their lists while the tournament is still going on. I am still torn between taking 2 or 3 different armies to the finals. I would love to know what my opponents are taking so I can game plan against them. That's the point. For RTT and the like I would post my lists for all to see. As there is much more than a good list in a RTT. After the finals are finished you will probably see a few lists being posted that did well. Not likely before that, would be my guess. Good luck...
