Battlefoam typical response time

Hi there Dakkadakka.

Just a quick question on Battlefoams usual reply time. I wrote to them thursday last week and haven't heard a thing, and the last time I wrote them I never got a reply (was about shipping and was answered in their FAQ I discovered, so I figured that was why they didn't reply) but dismissed it as being no biggie.
But this time I was looking at getting the 1520 and wanted some advice first, so was really hoping to actually get in touch with them and order a bag. The bags actually look so sweet, that I'm basically starting this army because of the 1520

How long have you guys experienced their response time to be? Or have anyone writing from a gmail had any problems with the mail ending up in spam or something like that?

Not really that glad about calling them because I live in Europe :(

But perhaps I don't need them to answer my mails - I have you guys! My question to them was basically: "can you model a Tau&Nids foam tray without me having to provide the outline of the figures, just the list of figures since I haven't assembled all of them yet (next to none - starting new army)". Anyone ever had them do anything like that for Tau and Nids? Cause if so, I'll just order from them without an answer to my mail

Cheers
- Gorlack (who's still very new to the forums)

Battlefoam typical response time

Not sure I can really help you out here. However I shall, as usual, shoot my mouth off anyway.

Per the site, Battlefoam offers an array of 40k foams, pre-cut without you having to give any outlines of actual figures. These are refered to as pre-cut foams. You can purchase a 1520 with these pre-cut foams. I would be shocked if Romeo did not give you the option to mix and match foams from different armies. I have dealt with him before and found him to be exceedingly flexible. He has on the site pictures of foams for Tau and tyranids. The Tau pre-cuts seem for firewarriors and small suits only, however. The Tyranids also seem to be troop-oriented.

Ultimately, if I were you I would go for the custom cut option anyway; you will have to make phone or email contact with him to set up your 1520 NO MATTER WHAT option you choose, by the looks of the site.

So, to answer your question: yes you can, but only if you are happy with troops-foams only and you will STILL have to contact him anyway.

Drop Sgt Dialbo a PM from this forum. I think that's Romeo and he is the battlefoam guy here on Dakka Forum. He was able to help me with my inquiries. Otherwise, calling is the best method. Email is the worst because they get swamped with alot of emails and requests (all of which are answered in the FAQ's). They do their best to answer them but if there is no order confirmation number to go with your email you may be out of luck. I think they give priority to those that have actually ordered. I know Romeo tries to give the best customer service possible.

EDIT: Also, I have PM'd a guy that ordered Tau trays by just giving the figures he has in his army. As long as you do not have any customized figures, I figure you will be okay. I have alot of custom kroot which I needed to send the outlines for. But it's all good.

@grizgrin

Yeah, checked out the site as well but for Tau they only had premade foam for their own bags that would fit troops, not tanks and suits.

Warlord Imp wrote:Drop Sgt Dialbo a PM from this forum. Lives in Europe so a lot of hazzle and expensive and what not, but thanks for the advice though.

Warlord Imp wrote:Email is the worst because they get swamped with alot of emails and requests (all of which are answered in the FAQ's). And as I was unsure if they could outfit the foam I didn't want to purchase before the mail was answered, so didn't have a order number. But probably what happened.

Warlord Imp wrote:I know Romeo tries to give the best customer service possible.

Saw the videos on their site and he seemed like a pretty cool guy and they generally seemed to have a high focus on customer satisfaction - exactly why I was so surprised that I didn't get a reply and wanted to know if it perhaps was a spam problem

Warlord Imp wrote:EDIT: Also, I have PM'd a guy that ordered Tau trays by just giving the figures he has in his army.
Re:Battlefoam typical response time

Hi Gorlack - Thank you for your interest in our products. As some of my fellow dakkamaniacs have pointed out I really do try and reply to all emails. Between my wife an myself we spend 3 hours of each work day answering as many emails as possible. I am sorry we missed yours.

The answer to your question is kinda simple. We can custom cut any style of foam that you may need. We also pre design popular styles for different armies. Next Monday we will be adding over 50 new trays to all the different lines we support. Now I can't promisse that the exact tray you need will be featured, but you may want to wait and take a look around the site first.

If you still require a specific tray type we may need the models finished to help you out. Bugs are really hard to pre cut for because of the multiple ways of possing them. Tau is normally a snap so you may find some middle ground that will also work for your needs.

Anyway, please contact me on Dakka PM if you ever run into a problem with using the website to email.

Hope this helps, and thanks to all the Dakka members/friends that helped with this post.

Romeo
Battle Foam
