Do game companies hire mechanical engineers?

I'm an out of work engineer after losing my job in the recent economic unpleasantness. I've been working in the aerospace industry and have a degree in mechanical engineering. I think it would be really neat to work for a game company, miniature or otherwise. Do they even hire engineers? I know their manufacturing is done in China. I know it's a long shot, just curious.
Thanks!

I can't see the miniatures companies themselves ever needing an engineer. The mold makers might, considering all the tooling they do.

What exactly did you do as a mechanical engineer?

Did you design parts, if so, what did you use to design them?

Jobs in the industry are rarely defined by the title. Instead, you have to bring a set of skills to the company that's worthwhile to them. Game companies won't be looking for a mechanical engineer, but if you have experience designing mechanical parts, then then transfer that knowledge into the ability to design plastic model kits, or make concepts for mechanical models, then you can find a job in the industry.

What I know is that GW has several game developers that have a degree in literature;
really not the best prerequisites if you ask me.

Good luck finding a job.
