I don't have a problem with it not looking like a gray wolf, but I wish it was more menacing looking.

I think the wolf looks nothing like a wolf should look anatomically. It is too.... I dunno... fluffy I guess. Like riding a giant snarling poodle.


Ok, where to start off here
Its a fething giant wolf in space, on a very different planet from this one, so of course it will be different.
It would have had to adapt to the habbitat of the planet to start with, which can easily enough cause a distinction in its looks.
Also, since you want to talk about anatomically correct creatures, lets look at a winged tyrant
For its size and weight the wings would have to be atleast twice the size of the FW ones.
Its bones would have to be hollow to help in this.
It would also have to have a much larger chest section so it could incorperate larger lungs built for flight

So, on that note, this is 40k, not animal planet

The model looks ace, however, i do have 2 problems with it.

1: The rider, it looks like gak and needs to be changed quickly.

Got to disagree with you here JD. It's regarded as a wolf; therefore it has to retain certain characteristics of said creature. This looks like a shire horse who's been fed with anabolic steroids, then tarred and feathered, and then been given a head transplant with that whasshisname-dumbfuck-hyena-fromTheLionKing-thing.

Also, yes it's 40k, but marines never look good riding anything. Michelin men are designed to stamp around, not ride giant pinatas.

It's still hilarious though. Probably the biggest ''head in my hands'' moment from the last few years. It has that rare distinction of being a model that makes me laugh and cry at the same time, a lot like the plastic Catachans.

Perhaps with a less static pose... I'm going to point out that Space Wolves are the fantasy army of 40k (Model wise).

And I like the model.
