Breaking Power Swords

I got the Battle For Black Reach SM off a friend recently, and when I was transporting the models back home, I found that I'd managed to inadvertantly snap the sword in half. Having now lost the other half, I was feeling really rather sad, until a friend mentioned upon the sword might be a pure blade of power. Is this feasible to paint, and if so, how would people go about it?

Kind Regards,

MC

Better yet, paint it like the busted power sword that the UM Captain is holding in (I think) the Rulebook. There's a picture of Ultramarines Vs Orks and in the middle of the picture there's an Ultramarine Captain grappling an Ork with one hand, and holding what's left of the power sword he stabbed another Ork in the throat with.

Thanks for the idea. DOes anyone have any ideas on how to paint the sword like it's simply a blade of energy? I was thinking blue/purple mix, with really bright at the ends of the swrod.

MC

Find some clear plastic cocktail sword picks, the kind they stick through fruit in tropical drinks. The ends of cocktail swords make for great powerswords, no paint necessary. You just have to be very, very careful with glue, as too much will cloud and mar the surface.
