I was given some metal models this evening and I am going to take the paint off to start fresh. I have never stripping a model before. I know somethings will break down platic but since these are metal do I have anything to worry about? I planned on just throwing it in some nail polish remover but if this is for some reason a no no please feel free to chime in.

Dip the model in for a few min’s remove and scrub with an old tooth brush if any paint remains repeat process.

You should be able to get pure Acetone from a pharmacy. If not nail varnish remover often contains Acetone in a lower concentration so longer soaking will be required.
