In need of some transfer help please.

Ive allways painted on chapter markings and everything else just by freehanding them, but after starting a somewhat (what will be) large BA army ive decided to go with the easier and more unified option.
are there any tips or tricks that can help me please? i rather not spend hours painting then have to paint over a ruined transfer lol, they are just something ive never used before (have a box full of them)

Thanks for any help

Ok. Here goes.

Equipment needed:

Small tub of fresh water (preferably cold).
A dry paintbrush.
Some scissors (to cut the transfers into the appropriate size).
Some tweezers.
A piece of tissue.
A hairdryer (optional).

Instructions:

Cut the transfer into a square.
Using the tweezers, dunk the transfer into the fresh water.
Wait for 30seconds.
Dab, very lightly, the square with the tissue (without actually touching the removable part of the transfer)- to just remove a bit of excess water.
Place the transfer next to the shoulderpad (which is what I assume you'll be using) and drag it onto the model using the paintbrush.
Then, if you want to, hair dry the model so the transfer dries quicker.

This is something you might want to practice on some "test models" because you go doing it on a pro-painted model.

Hope this helps mate.

Cheers,

Jack.

on SM shoulder pads it often helps to cut the insignia as close to the "color" as possible... something square (like an assault symbol) you may need to cut diagonal lines thru the corners *xacto* (not thru the color duh) to help the decal conform to the curves... I also highly recommend getting decal set, It melts? the decal slightly to make it hug the curves better.

Pick up some Microset and Microsol decal solutions.

Gloss the area to receive the decal, let dry.

Cover the area in Microset, apply decal as normal, brush on Microsol. Let dry. If any wrinkles remain, apply another coat of Microsol.
