It would be ultra-cool. It would have to have a massive wolf pelt that covered the whole top of the dread, with the head and paws hanging down the front. (The size of the one Canis Wolfborn rides.) With a whole string of wolf skulls across the hips. Take a look at the Space Marine with the flamer on the far right, Steve removed the canister and then placed it back in his hand to make it look like he was reloading.

converting thunderwolves would be a bitch as there isn't anything wolfy big enough in the gw range to mount spacemarines on.

They're furry and ferocious looking, but would need a lot of conversion work to look wolfy.

I would hope that FW do them rather than GW, as metal models that size are pretty horrible to work with.

Incidentally, the FW Space Woof Termies are beautifully sculpted. There are two Termie bodies with heads that are perfect as characters, as they're more dignified looking than the (still excellent) heads in the plastic Wolf Guard Termie set.
