Question for GW red shirt ( or black shirt? )

Not that long ago , my cousin bought me some brand new lizardmen + apoc boxes for my bday
I sort of have no interest in those , so i asked if my cousin could return it or atleast exchange it with something he is interested in for himself .

Now the weird part is , he was told that the recent price hike changed the product number.
Thus even if the contents are the same , because the product number scans into a different price ,
they wont be accepting them.

Is this what happens?

The barcode is just printed on there. The mini/model itself is still the exact same mini/model. There is NO difference between them other then the bar code. The would have to be some sort of law against then not allowing it for the full price in that circumstance. I know in America we have the better business bureau to call on things like that. They will be able to tell you what to do if the GW people give you a hard time about it.
I dont see how they would tho, I know from personal experience that GW has an outstanding customer support system. But then again, I dont deal with them in a GW store lol

Automatically Appended Next Post:
lol WHOA I dunno how I double posted that one quote but whatever

Re:Question for GW red shirt ( or black shirt? )

I maybe misunderstanding what was going on but the barcode/product number/ISBN Number would not change with a general GW price increase, the only change they will make is on their price database otherwise they would have to restock the shop everytime they increase prices. Therefore if said manager is stating that the packaging is now defunct then he if talking out of his arse and you should call him on it. Re a change of pricing band, then as others have said they can [and should] be able to sticker/label this easily.

Price increases after purchase in no way affect your statutory rights i.e. you should be able to return the products within the proscribed period for a full refund (I am assuming you would require proof of purchase in Canada as in UK) or store credit without P.o.P. GW are usually very good customer services wise, I'm sure a call to GWHQ Canad/US would bear fruit.

Of course there is always plan B - (and I am in no way assuming you would behave like this but it does work......) politely request what is due to you at their busiest time and when you receive an unsatisfactory response increase the tone and veracity of your argument until you are creating quite the scene. If this fails there is plan C - eBay and D - Enjoy your new Lizard man army, DINOTASTIC!

Ahem, good luck which ever way you play it!

Question for GW red shirt ( or black shirt? )

Did your cousin have his original purchase receipt?

There might have been a miscommunication between him and the sales clerk, along the lines of, "There was a price increase after you bought these, so we have to give you the old amount back".

It's a fairly standard retail policy (I worked in retail close to a decade and dealt with it all the time) designed to discourage people from buying things on sale, "losing" their receipt, and then returning it after the sale ends to make a "profit".

When in doubt, ask to speak to the manager. I don't know if I have ever heard of someone having a bad experience with GW's Customer Service, they are usually top notch.
