I cant give you blind advice, because it really depends on the orc army list and play.
Orks can play very diverse armies.

A quick note is that Orks vs Necrons is a match up when Nightbringer shines.

Also immortals are good, scarabs almost a necessity to either charge his lootas after some flanking maneuuvers or charge a unit you need to hold for while whilst you deal with the really strong Bikes or nobs.

Kill those trucks as fast as possible and deploy in a way that you can make him walk a long way if he plays horde. Monolith is awesome vs horde ork.

Vs Nob bikers, they need to be HEAVILY shot with Str 9+ weapons (particle whip, Heavy destros) to kill a nob or two, and then shot with everything else and then charge with Nightbringer, hitting not his boss but the rest of the nobs. AV 14, as others have said too the Nightbringer is in his element, don't expect him to annihilate Ork squads in a flash but do expect him to wear them down over time and form a unit that your opponent will be forced to react to and thereby provide your Destroyers/ Immortals with something that resembles a fire base.
