I'm not sure what I'm doing with the prism itself, but I know I want to do *something* with it, any ideas are very welcome. Since I'll be painting the crew compartment I can't be filling up the tank with electronics, so no light-up prism this time.

At first I thought that rune in the middle was the Prince Symbol... but I was mistaken. Your vehicle is safe, for now.

This made me a lot! Incidentally, Prince (or whatever he's calling himself these days) is one of my favourite artists. I'd call him a musician or perhaps a singer but really, he's an Artist, with a capital A XD

Thank you For fine detail I'm on a 4/0 at the moment, but it's a bit knackered. To get the points nice and sharp I cheat by refining them with the black paint after I've done all the work on the red. First picture shows the work I've done on the prism itself. I don't know about anyone else, but I found the prism to be one of the worst fitting pieces I've ever come across. After a long time filing off the cage so that I can paint the prism as one giant solid crystal held by the sponson (this will make more sense than it sounds right now) I'm left with some stonking gaps at the pointy end and some mould lines to deal with since the metal seems to be slightly warped.



As you can see, I've also been busy cleaning up the turret cockpit canopy, which is now smoothed like the pilot's canopy and polished as much as the plastic will let me. I've got a cockpit interior in the post, a devil of a thing to get hold of now that GW don't offer spare parts like they used to. This also gives you a good idea of the pattern I'm using on the turret.



Finally a picture showing the crazy angle this thing sits at thanks to the super-heavy fire prism addition. I don't know if they changed this to plastic in later models, but this being one of the first they were still producing high quality metal bits... I'm not entirely happy with GW's trend toward plastics, especially having seen how some of the mutli-part kits look, the Catachan IG being a prime example. Anyway, rant aside, the underside will be mostly red with the fins and gems done in the same blue-purple crystal. I'm keeping the underside relatively simple since it's not seen much, but I still want it to be striking for the odd occasion when it is visible.
