Dealing with mech eldar + eldrad

So it had been a little while since I'd played my chaos and I was running a partial mech build and got pretty wrecked against an Eldar player. His list was something like 2 squads of DA in a wave serpent, squad of pathfinders, eldrad with a squad of fire dragons in a wave serpent, guide farseer with another squad of fire dragons, 2 fire prisims and a squad of war walkers with scatter lasers.

I'm not really sure what in the chaos arsenal is really appropriate to field against this kind of army. My termicide unit did their job and took out both a squad of DA and a wave serpent but were promptly wiped out by focused fire from a couple of different squads. I don't have the most competitive builds but I like to work with the models I've put a lot of time into such as my defilers.

I know obliterators are good but I've only got 3 and lash is more or less useless unless by some miracle I can get them out of their transports. As my opponent put it, his army generally eats mech marines of all types and while he struggles with say simply large numbers, I just don't know how effective that would be against other competitive builds out there.

So please help, if you need the list I used I'll post it up but this is just me trying to get a feel for target priority and overall tactics/some specific unit advice.

I wouldnt rely on termies, obliterators as they get killed quickly by fire dragons. I would get some spawn to tie up eldrad. Then use 1000 sons as a main shooting part, AP3 pierces almost all eldar armour, and possesed as a main CC force. Finally take some heavy weapon guys (is it havocs?) to take out his vehicles. Try to take out 1 fire prisim as they can combine beams which is bad.

Dealing with mech eldar + eldrad

I don't think spawn would really tie up Eldrad very well because he would hit them on 3s, wound on 2s and they're really overpriced for a unit that I don't even really control because of the "mindless" special rule. Havocs might be a good idea but needing 5s to glance with their autocannons can be really rough.

Autocannons are statistically the best weapon in the chaos arsenal for shooting down Eldar grav tanks. If you're going to tool against mech Eldar, then just pack in as many autocannons as you can.

Defilers are kind of weak right now in general, but especially weak vs. mech eldar because their shots bounce off of wave serpents and they're slow and die in a second to witch blades.

Dealing with mech eldar + eldrad

Yes, lascannon/multimelta/melta are nearly as good as autocannons versus wave serpents, and better versus falcons in many cases (autocannons/plasmaguns only edge them out because of the chance of 2 damaging hits). Oblits have all of those as options at different ranges and are the best all-around anti-gravtank unit that Chaos gets.
