Nurglings

Hi there, starting an all Nurgle Chaos Daemons army and got a couple of Nurgling questions.

On pg. 42 of the Chaos Daemons Codex it says that "Nurglings can carry a Palanquin of Nurgle (as described under Daemonic Steeds on pg. 76)". But pg. 76 never makes any reference to Nurglings carrying Palanquins. Is this just a piece of fluff information about the Nurglings, or is there some deeper meaning to it?

And another thing. Is it possible to buy 9 bases for [insert very low point cost] for a total of 27 wounds in 1 unit? Or are there different rules when buying a "Swarm" unit? Couldn't really find anything, but seems odd that they have so many wounds pr. base...

How does the model look? Single Nurgling, or a lot crammed together to get the swarm look? 'Cause if it's single Nurglings I'll probably give magnetizing them a go

EDIT:
Added another question...

Palanquin is simply an upgrade for a nurgle herald, has no use to nurgling bases other than that.

They are cheap per base, meaning you can have a high wound unit, just avoid blasts as much as possible.

per base people generally tend to take 5, however, i prefer to take 6 or so, with a few scratch built ones with them, packed bases of nurglings look great

Lt. Lathrop,

I usually park Epidemius & the nurglings in the back of my army.If its the "bases" type mission.I sit him on my "base" & send the entire @ my opponent's "base".

trying to keep him alive, w/o him my nurgle daemons take a big hit.bye bye tally !

This tactic has worked well for me , i get the tally rolling, & if my opponent does manage to close the gap w/ Epidemius & the nurglings.

I've had the lil' o nurglings go crazy w/ 4 power weapon attacks ( on the charge ! ) per base.

That wound on a roll of 2+ ! regardless of toughness !

Been running a Tallyman list myself, and it does work really well. Slow and Purposeful is annoying, but since you're Deep Striking all over the table, it's not usually too much of a concern as you start right on top of them, and can leave them with few places to run.

I however do not use Nurglings, and instead take a full unit of Beasts of Nurgle for Epi's bodyguard.
