Space Wolves - skyclaws (airwolves)

Im planning a 500-800pts wolves force, will mostly be playing against Nids and Chaos Renegade IG.

I love the idea of jump troops - and the incredible amount of attacks is too good to resist. So here is my idea:

SkyClaws (5) 130pts
1x melta or flamer (10pts), 1x powersword (15pts), 1x MotW (15pts)

= 12 attacks on the charge, 3 are power weapons attacks and then the 1+d6 attacks for the Motw = potential 19 attacks on charge

But what makes this really impossible to ignore is adding either a wolfpriest, wolflord or wolfguard to the squad... and this is where I need tactical help.

Which makes more sense? WolfLord, WolfGuard or WolfPriest.

What I like about the WolfLord/Guard is you can take MotW in addition to a saga... essentially you can end up with a stupid amount of attacks with rerolls.

Any ideas?

you can't put a wolf guard with them, unless you are talking about the WGBL. And for the points I think the WL is a no brainer over a WGBL.

But both of them are just added killy-ness, where are the Wolf Priest adds some punch at a good cost, but gels well with the unit he's with.

Preferred enemy on infantry makes the unit excel against other infantry, then you tack on Fearless and you get a fast moving unit of not running away. Its not a top notch assault unit, but its not bad either.

In the end, I am not sold that the Sky Claws are top notch units, but they are fast and relatively cheap. I would almost always select them instead of Blood Claws. For 3 points more you get double the move.

I think you may have your math wrong on the number of attacks on the charge

(5x(1+1+2))-1-1+D6

5 models, 1 base attack each, +1 for extra close combat weapons, +2 for charging, -1 and -1 for the two guys do not have extra CCWs, (flamer/melta, and MOTW) and finaly, +d6 for MOTW.

19 to 24 attacks with MOTW, and without MOTW you are at 19 attacks
