How do i paint maggots?

I'm adding swarms of maggots as nurglings to my chaos FB army. I'm just wondering; how the heck do i paint maggots? I'd appreciate any help.
I've added a few somewhat blurry pictures of them to give you an idea of what I'm doing.

Start from white and use washes/glazes to build a translucent effect.
A bit of gloss varnish/water effects should make them look suitably gross.
They look good so far.

I just did a "Maggot Launcher" for my Nurgle Rhino, and I used Top Ramen noodles with a few washes over them.

those are sculptet great, however, so what about desert yellow as a base, with various washes, or skull white, with various washes?

Uh... i think kommando khaki or bleached bone would work for the base, then a light wash of something brown in the creases would work pretty well.

How do i paint maggots?

Depends if you're going for "pussy, rotting" nurgle or "vibrant, diseased" nurgle. For the former I'd say you want to start with a white and slap a thin brown wash on there, but for the latter I'd go with a cream base and a green or blue wash with some bright orange, red or pink accents

How do i paint maggots?

The techniques are using GW paints.
Use dheneb stone as the foundation over a black spray then wash with delvan mud to make them look dirty.
To make them look diseased do a foundation dheneb stone like before then go over with rotting felsh and wash with thraka green.
To make them look fleshy start with a foundation of dheneb stone (again) and then wash with ogryn flesh.

The main key here is dheneb stone.

I would say it also depends on what other colors you are using - if you are going dark with everything else, go very white. If everything else is whiter, do something darker to contrast.

A lot of good suggestions there, though. I would add that you could do them all as batch painting so you can take time and do multiple thin washes of purple, blue, and green.

- Blackbone
