Any ideas on likely candidates. I'm thinking the 'female' tank from WW1 with an added turret from something else for the likes of Leman Russ etc. What about battlewagons though? I'd especially like ideas on tanks with more than one turret and/or that can act as troop transports as well.

MASSIVE Turret for a 152mm Howitzer so plenty of scope for conversion. I have a hobbyboss 1:48 scale which is about right for a light tank. Was going to use it as a LRBT stand in but it looks a bit small so is now going to be use for artillery. 1:35 would be about right but size can be dependant on the brand.

Soviet T-35 has 5 turrets and side skirts (so very 40k IG) - I haven't seen any models around but I have not been specifically looking.

The Whippet is nice and there is a new model out from Emhar. They also do a couple of the British heavy tanks.

This picture is of a later varient I think. But there is great potential for any of the heavier US tanks from the Pershing onwards.



Then there are the British tanks as others have suggested. I think the early Cruiser tanks would work well [mk2 & 3 shown]. Again it is the exposed track area which really shouts waargh to me here and the riveted boxy turrents also give a good base for conversion. Others have pointed out the Vickers and along with these tanks, I think you can realliy see the influence on the Forgeworld designer when they drew up the recent tank release [Awesome model IMHO]



Finally you cant go wrong with some of Gerries finest, their tanks have been done many times but people often overlook the AFV/Half-tracks. Good fodder fo a wartruck/wagon, but the tracks could easily be used on your own chasis, leaving plenty of armoured panels to throw together in whatever shape you like.



My final thought on the subject is that scale really isn't too important,so long as it isn't too small. That's one I've seen a few times that always looks amazing if done up right an' Orky.



Another favorite(T-26 Twin Turret by Zveda), but it's out of stock currently...which means that the link to the actual page doesn't work. It's marked at $16.11 for the price point, and Zveda's stuff isn't bad.
