IG Urban Camo - Tips and Advice sought

OK so I am in the process of moving house, a benefit of which is that I have negotiated with my missus and will have a dedicated games room for myself so I can finally make a start on my IG army in peace! Essentially, I want to make a kind of gritty, city of death, urban type IG regiment and in keeping with that, I want a suitable urban camo theme. I was wondering if anyone had any tips, pointers or links to guides they could share. One concern is that I am a *very* slow painter so any potential camo scheme needs to be simple to replicate otherwise I will be taking an eternity to finish them!

Thanks,

EDIT: Should also mention that I have seen several guides and pages here on Dakka reference camo techniques but haven't seen anything that quite matches what I want or can be simplified enough easily.

Re:IG Urban Camo - Tips and Advice sought

Well, painting wise, if you want the camo paint job to stand-out, then choose shades/colors that actually contrast a bit than colors you would actually use for camouflage. Does that make-sense? True camouflage is designed to suppress or hide but in WH models it is designed usually to stand-out a bit. It is a subtle distinction but I feel an important one.

Also, the GW website has a nice simple guide fro IG camo, here...

http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?categoryId=&pIndex=2&aId=2400008&start=3

IG Urban Camo - Tips and Advice sought

I'd go for a basecoat of gray, then would do dark gray and white shapes on it, try to make those shapes "cutting" the body shapes (por example, the ones ont he torso may go horizontal or diagonally, but never vertically, legs and arms should be horizontal.

Paint the hands with a very dark brown or gray (avoid black), same with boots and anything that's made of leather. Guns and such should be done again, in dark gray, with a mate finish.

IG Urban Camo - Tips and Advice sought

All I did with my Urban Tau was GW Foundation Adeptus Battlegray and then GW Shadowgrey for the markings.

Now for IG I would mix some Black in with the GW Foundation Adeptus Battlegray and use it for the armor, pouches and weapon, then stright battlegrey for the uniform and black for the boots. This way there is some variation in the uniform so they are not monotone.

Normally, people try to do that ghetto urban camo with blue, black, grey and white and it is a confusing mess. The simpler the better and with some simple high lights or light drybrushing of GW Kommando Khaki and the simple scheme will just pop.

I did Army Painter Army Green as a basecoat, and then added stripes and dots in different ratios to create a Multicam-like effect for urban camo. I used two major colors over the OD green, and two or three others as dots.

Some troopers, including inducted Eldar:

Traitor Sgt next to a tank:

Washed with Mud or Black, highlighted the folds with Desert Yellow, to bring out the contrast post-camo.

Not a fast process, but I like the results.

IG Urban Camo - Tips and Advice sought

Many thanks for all the replies. The GW Articles were actually pretty good and I may adapt and simplify the colour scheme to my own needs. As someone said above, it is all too easy to go nuts painting little dots and splodges and end up making the model look messy so I am going to go for a fairly straightforward two tone scheme - so a sort of grey basecout and then a darker splodgy pattern (maybe some small highlights)
