Regardless of how I feel about the science behind global warming, the first two minutes or so of this really explain my sentiment about this whole ordeal. Over the course of more than a decade, it seems that a single word ('hide') is all that is really holding any of this conspiracy theory together. That... in a nutshell, does little to convince me that the whole shebang is utterly rotten; but what do I know... It bears further investigation as the point of science is to be objective.

There was around 3000 emails, at... I dunno, less than a 1/4 of a megabyte each; reading most in less than a minute.... understanding it... ummm... yeah...

I mean, I tried, I looked through a couple, but I seriously have no clue what they are talking about most of the time. Meandering of the subject slightly I remember being told 20 years ago in school that the town I lived in would be underwater right about....Now. Obviously the subject at hand was in its infancy but I wonder if, along with those theories of the past presented to people my age along with the email fiasco make people such as myself more inclined to skepticism?

Science is absolute if scientist A manages to demonstrate beyond any doubt that his postulates are right the 99.99% are wrong and any call to consensus is moot and that´s the problem, right now both sides are unable to prove what causes global warming. Theories are being tested but so far nothing is definitive so the call to "fight" AGW that interested parties are making because there is a consensus about AGW is a bunch of crap.

The leaked emails show that there is not a consensus but rather that dissenters have been silenced and that even proponents of the AGW are having trouble with the data available. But of course when ternures and funding to your pet projects are at stake...
