So that is a basic idea of how I would like to play the question is, would this be a competent army list or would I be handy-capping myself by not taking some of the more...interesting choices availible? I'm also having a bit of trouble deciding whether The Empire or Bretonnia would be better suited for this type of army. Its the cavalry that causes the problems. The Empire heavy cav is depicted in heavy plate and barding - the historical cav would be in some sort of mail without any armor on the horse. Also, Empire has no option for light cav with bows although Dogs of War might provide a solution.

I can't see Bretonnia being a good option at all.
