Simple Green, works on plastics and works on metal.
Keep in mind it jellies epoxies so green stuff and 2 part epoxy adhesives will fail after a dip.
Use a firm tooth brush to scrub off the paint after a day of soaking.
Pick out the last of it with a pin or dental tool.
