My third Co. Ultramarines.

I've been working on these boys off and on for almost FIVE years, they are about to see another rules change, i've played with them 10 times, they have a winning record, 6-2-2. I set out on this project and i will call it massive to better my modeling, painting, and gaming skills.
I started this army to paint and model, I got tired of my friends armies and my own, where we'd have these great looking special characters or commanders, and one of two nicely painted "special squads" and the rest of the armies if painted were just very lackluster... I wanted my Ultramarines to have the same "quality" from tactical marines to my army commanders. Though yes some figures naturally get more time than others, i like it when i put the army on the table and people look at it and go "oooooo, its ALL painted... really well"
The reason why i think I have as many wins as i do, is Tactical troops, lots and lots of troops, big squads are hard to break down on take and hold missions. Also for most non-marine armies, all those bolters. I started believing in the power of the bolter, when i discovered that the more I shoot, the more i hit (the ARE SM's), and the more the have to make saves, the more saves the roll the more they will miss. my two losses and one of the ties, are against SM type armies.
Take a look at my pics let me know what you think, i love good constructive thoughts.
http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/images-23145-5501_Ultramarines%203rd%20Co..html
http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/images-23145-5500_Dreadnaught%203rd%20Co..html

I was trying to come up with a conversion that wasn't too over the top.
