Best quote of 2009: What is your pick?

Well, this year has seen a lot of big news stories. Lots of quotes were tossed back and forth. However, as the year ends and the news that terror suspects are being moved to a prison in rural Illinois ABC Nightly News did a story in the town that the maximum security prison is in. They were asking people how they felt about the money that the move will bring in and at the end they asked a true honest to God, red blooded American Redneck the question of the hour. "Do you feel that this will make your town a target?"

His reply to the question was about as smooth, and honest of an answer that would put any politician and celebrity to shame. Without missing a beat he replied, "Nope. I have a gun."

I paused, and then laughed because this was the best honest statement I have heard on the news in years. Then it dawned on me what better place to put a hundred of anti-American terrorists, but in the middle of the American gun toting heartland where a town of a 1000 people has more guns and ammo then the average army battalion.

"Nope. I have a gun." is my choice of best news quote of 2009.
