I then learned through reading the Codex through of the Zeist Campaign, where many different chapters sent a squad or a Predator or something to help defeat the Xenos. I bought AoBR, a Predator, and a couple single characters, and this is what I have (Only Ultramarines painted, in the process of painting Praetors of Orpheus and my own chapter on the white primered models).

Washes of brown or black might bring out some more detail on the figures. If you're going for blood ... might want to try it on the assault marines as well -- a little gore over their chainswords with spatter on their front armor.
