I don't see how any level-headed individual can possibly associate the Tau with Communism, I mean, the Tau operate a Caste System where you are BORN into your rank in life... They have been detailed to have an unstable society and a natural inclination toward certainty and stability... Hence why they emphasise harmony.

They follow a caste of prophets to secure the greater good and effectively whitewash over a lot of problems in Tau Society.

The Tau are bloomin' confucianists! And it further fits in with their Chinese-sourced inspirations.

A vocal part of the community (as a whole) saw the emergence of Tau as a sellout-move on GWs behalf trying to get the anime-crowd interested.
Consequently that same vocal part needed to call the Tau something bad.

"Communism" was chosen because of the implication of evil empire due to the Cold War. Also americans can easily and instantly recognize communism as something wicked and bad (sorry americans, but you haven't really gotten over McCarthy yet).

Any attempt at change can be labelled as "Socialism/Communism" and any further argumentation is seen as unneccessary. Take a look at Obama for further examples (although that is for a different forum entirely).


In all it is just kids trying to call another thing bad. Legalism-Not much actually, You could say that Legalism had a strong, centralized government. Tau have a small number of planets that are packed together.
