Citadel Paint Station Measurements?

I've been looking around for measurements for the Citadel Paint Station, so I can decide if it would be better to buy one, or make a similar one myself (I've limited time to do craft/gaming stuff due to college), because I only have so much room. I can't for the life of me find it anywhere, even on the official GW webpage.

"This pack contains one Paint Station. A Paint Station consists of several 6mm MDF pieces that require assembly."

This is the only measurement given on the official page, and given the picture 6mm could really only be the thickness of the pieces, at most.

2x2 1/2? Hrm. All right, cool. I should be able to fit it in somewhere. Thanks for the info, Makov! Makes my life a ton easier, I'll probably go with the Citadel one - after a little browsing around to see if any non-GW vendors are undercutting the price of course. $55CAD is expensive.

A 2X2 piece of plywood costs about 7 bucks. add on what thau whist for a couple bucks more. Just saying...

As to the GW "Images removed by request..." I still can't believe I actually saw that. I know I should add something clever, but all I can think of is,

Is that for real? I can honestly say I've never seen anything like that before.

A 7 buck board?

All you have to do is buy it. You don't need anything other then that.

You want to go real on the cheap, take a piece of cardboard, and make that same 55 dollar paint station out of cardboard... Might cost you a whole half hour and an old box to make.

I've spent the last month or so doing the majority of my painting at a GW paintstation during my club night.
It is a well made piece of kit that would be impossible to build without the correct tools.
It would take quite some time to build something quite as nice as the one that GW offers.
Cardboard really wouldn't be a good alternative.....

It's a US based webstore. Hence, they're not allowed to show GW products or have a shopping cart for them under the set of rules that GWUS put up regarding online discount sellers.

Technically, they're in violation since they've got a shopping cart that allows GW products to be added without having to specially request them. I think the only US webstore I've seen that follows the rules put forth to the letter is The Warstore, and even then you can technically cheat and copy/paste item names from the catalog list in the GW section.

Almost everything is impossible to build without the correct tools. For a paint station knock off you would only need some mdf a saw a drill, some drill bits. a pencil and either woodglue or a hammer and nails.

Most of those tools can probably be either be borrowed or you already have that.

Exactly my point!
Have a look at one, in person, and you will realise that along with the tools that you have mentioned you will also need a holesaw bit, sandpaper, a router, a square edge of sorts, space to use all of this stuff without getting dust everywhere and being noisy and some woodworking skills.
I have all of this stuff and I don't live in a flat.
I'm also not going to lend my stuff to someone without these basic tools and skill because they would doubtless f*ck my gear up!
I'll make my own because it is convenient and cheaper for me to do so.
For others I would recommend buying the paintstation.

That paint station is okay, but if I were putting cash into GW's pocket, I'd rather go the Home Depot route and spend $10 and then drop the other $40 on some minis. At some Home Depots they'll even cut the wood down for you so then all you'd have to do is nail it/screw it together.

Like when did they take "shop"/"industrial arts" off the curriculum?

Then i guess we are different in that mentality. If someone wants to use my tools they are welcome to use them. There is only 1 rule. You break it you buy it.
But to be honest i dont use a paintstation i don't see the point. a tray works just as fine and is far cheaper. That and the area it provides is way to small for me

I've had one for like 4-5 years now, and it is great... only complaint is that it could be bigger.

It has save paint from spilling on counters many a time.

So, wait...the idea is that is keeps your paint and brushes in one place and provides a surface on which to paint?.... at that price you may as well also spend $5 on a Citaldel Water Pot. Wash those brushes in style!

Put down a piece of MDF or other material, buy a paintbrush holder and line up the paints on your desk.

Under $10USD.

I'm a Soldier and my civilian job takes me away from home. I usually paint instead of hanging out at strip clubs, usually. I have purchased that $5 water pot and I'll tell you its great. I can throw it in my ruck sack without fear of it breaking. Its not too big. No more searching for an empty water bottle to cut in half.

I have also purchased some MDF paint racks for home. Sure I could have made them myself but its not only time vs monies usually the quality is there in a purchased item. We all purchase items to make our lives more convenient.

Hey save money and make coffee over an open fire in the back yard instead of spending $15 bucks on a Mr. Coffee.
