Tomb King Skele Colour Test - Opinions needed.

Looks great!

The only thing I think it needs is some sort of color on the bow. Either highlights or some decorative paint swirls. Also you missed the gold cap at the bottom in the first picture.

painting the bow a colour like dark red or blue would really help. The highlights look very natural but its a bit lacking in colour. On the models with more armour this scheme would look great but at the moments it just doesn't look finished.

@firstborn: bone was spray white was sepia, paint Bone on, highlight 50/50 bone and white, final highlight of white.

@4M2A - I am very inclined to agree with you, a friend has just suggested highlight the bow with and Dark and Mid tone brown then washing it black I wonder whether that would help matters.

I chose this model precisely for this reason to make sure my method of painting bone was a)doable and b) looked nice, nearly all the other 20 or so archers have the headdresses and quivers and other fancy gubbins stuck on so I will have a play around with one those models tomorrow and see how it comes out on those.

Depending on how the painting progresses I may start up a blog for this army as im really excited about this project.

I actually like it the way it looks now. I like the color of the bow as well. No need to alter this in any way, imo
