Rediscovering some classic Sci-Fi T.V.

Some of you here may recall the program "Alien Nation",a television program from the late 80's and early 90's,based on the film of the same name starring James Cann and Mandy Patinkin.
I honestly enjoyed this series (and the movie) and have recently rediscovered both.
Any other Dakkites ever watch this or have any other "classic" Sci-Fi gems to share?

Well, I've never watched Alien Nation. However I did watch quite a lot of,"The outer limits," when it still played on our local cable network. I only watched from episode 12. of season 5, my favourites being an episode called,"Manifest destiny," and episode 12 itself which I believe was entitled tribunal. I've been trying to save up money to buy the original seasons on DVD, it always seems to be spent on something else though.

Yes,the little quirks and such that the Tenctonese (aliens) display is fantastic, one can sympothize with their plight to "fit in" while retaining their cultural identity as well.
I also like the social comentary in the show concerning issues like discimination and racism as well as "illegal imigration".

@ Deff Dread red Edition.

The outer limits is a fantastic bit of classic Sci-Fi,not quite as good as Twilight Zone IMO,but great nontheless

I think he was talking about the new Outer Limits series, which was hands-down better than any of the attempts at the Twilight Zone revivals. Of course, the Twilight Zone never had an episode with Alyssa Milano going topless, since they were network TV and Outer Limits was Showtime, IIRC.

Alien Nation the movie was great, and the TV show surprisingly good. IIRC, the TV movies used to wrap things up after the series was canceled were terribad, but that's how these things go.
