Pretty much every time I look into a bit of Foreign Travel, I hear how cheap it can be (for example, in India your main cost is getting out there, beyond that a litte goes a looooong way). So buoyed on such information, I start looking for flight, only to seemingly hit the 'MUG' button on their website, and get nothing but ridiculous prices for flying out there. Take my friend Giada. She's from Italy and is going to see her folks later this month. All in, she got her flights (there and back, all inclusive) for a teeny £90. If I'd looked, I'd be quoted £300, guaranteed.

I fly to Canada quite often because my gf is Canadian, I have a couple of times managed to find cheap flights on very odd airlines that have been great flights, other times they've been awful, but if you're looking to fly to Europe then at least you won't be on the plane too long

So yeah, lots of price checking, call around if you're good at arguing on the phone (I'm not) and you can often get discounts.
