Best Snow Effects?

I'm pretty sick of GW snow flock. I find I need several layers to give it a realistic look, the first layer always looks like dishwashing foam. I've noticed several other brands of snow flock, and even a liquid snow effect, but haven't sprung for them yet,. Can anyone advise me on a decent snow effect?

For mine, I use Woodland Scenics - Snow. It's a type of flocking slightly, and the rest of their products are great too.

For how I use it, it's actually how most people do the baking soda snow. I mix in glue, water, and flocking, heavy on the glue light on the water. It mixes into a grainy paste which I lather on the base and it comes out great. I hate flocking it because then it ends up looking unrealistic with the huge flakes on a small model.

When I get home I'll post an example pic.

I do more or less the same thing. I make a paste, which I trowel onto the figure then use a wetted brush to shape. A little bit of water makes it flow a bit, so that it can settle between grass. I'm typically going for the late winter/early spring look.
