1750 point anti-mech Necrons

I've been playing a lot of heavily mechanized armies lately, so I'm trying to find a better anti-mech list. The idea is to hunt transports with the Destroyers and go after more problematic vehicles like Demolishers and Vindicators with the Destroyer lord. The monolith is mainly used for cover for the warriors who usually only have a shot at a Deep Striking dreadnought. The Deceiver is used to kill pretty much everything he comes in contact with: people say he's not resilient enough but I have yet to have him die.

Perhaps the biggest problem for this list are high-Strength ordnance batteries like Basilisk and orbital bombardments. When they hit, they hurt and I need to be really careful not to get phased out after that. Most forms of regular infantry are an outright joke against 10 destroyers. Terminators don't pose too much of a threat since they can't sweep me, but a good seer council has proven to be pretty darn resilient against this list if I can't engage with my scythe lord or destroyer.

HQ:
Destroyer Lord 100
Phase Shifter 30
Destroyer Body 30
Warscythe 10

Deceiver 300

470

Troops
10 Necron Warriors 180
10 Necron Warriors 180

360

Fast Attack
5 Destroyers 250
5 Destroyers 250
5 Scarab bases with disruption fields 80

580

Heavy Support
1 Monolith
235

1745 total

My biggest problem is the inherent phaseout gamble by taking so few warriors and no res orb. The problem is that the warriors never accomplish anything by themselves, and if I spend points on a res orb lord it's 500 points of something I can't risk anyway - I'd rather spend those points on something that CAN accomplish something. If my opponent hasn't taken any heavy ordnance then I'm usually golden because they're not going to phase me out with the monolith blocking LOS.

Usually my strategy is to bait one unit of Destroyers during deployment and redeploy using the Deceiver to put myself in a more advantageous position. Turn 1 I try and snipe some transports with the Destroyers and turbo boost my lord and scarabs in the general direction of the most problematic vehicles. If I'm anticipating some sort of CC unit deep striking or coming in on a land raider too quickly, I hold the Deceiver back to deal with it.

For KP this is simple enough. For objectives I keep my warriors behind the monolith, dropping them off at one objective and parking at the next while I try to eliminate scoring units.

He's more of an auxiliary unit to deal with things the Destroyers can't, and to draw what is usually ineffective fire before careening into something.

I could conceivably replace him with a unit of Immortals, but with their short range I don't see them accomplishing much against a mechanized army. Sure, if I were playing a lot of infantry armies I'd happily take them, but against mechs the deceiver accomplishes more.

So what kind of godly shooting is taking him down so easily? I'm guessing I don't see too many competitive lists at my LGS, but an example of something that rips through T8 W5 would be nice.

Re:1750 point anti-mech Necrons

You are actually short 100 points. You could give a res orb to your lord so he can WBB in case hes cut down by a power weapon. It also gives you some points for a couple more scarabs.

One technique Ive had some success with is starting both warrior units in reserve and walking them onto the board.

Just aggressively seek the opponents objective with your monolith forcing them to deal with it. Everyone says they will ignore it, until its sitting on their objective. Deciever is perfect at contesting another. Now your warriors just need to find an empty one to camp on. Destroyers and lord can go tank hunting.

The worst I have to deal with is a couple outflanking Valkyries but 40 gauss shots (well, more like 34-36 after they fire) actually has a pretty good chance of taking them out since they're skimmers.

100 points short, huh? I was thinking of taking a Tomb Spyder so I wouldn't have to bunch up the destroyers as much, and then I guess I could take another 3 scarab swarms to make up the difference. Feels like a waste of points though.

Maybe cut the the deceiver, add another monolith and just bite the bullet and buy a 140 point res orb?
