But i have no idea on what to buy.

Can somone people post some 1000point lists for me and some tactics for these lists? Much appriciated thanks in advance.

I like lots of warriors. I play with my friend's necrons and generally use 3 squads of warriors, a lord, and a monolith as my core force. Immortals are a nice addition, as are destroyers - but if you go with destroyers, get a big unit.
Both of the c'tans are really nice, but I wouldn't use them in a 1

I have struggled to use wraiths, piriahs, and flayed ones effectively.

Heavy destroyers can be good, but only if you take a unit of 3.

There are generally two schools of Necron philosophy. The first is a Destroyer heavy list which usually uses a Destroyer Lord, 10+ Destroyers and 6+ Heavy Destroyers. The logic is that having a small number of destroyers makes them highly susceptible to having the whole unit wiped out, not being within range of a similar unit and losing their WBB rolls. This is a very fast list and uses the minimum 20 Warriors and then jets around the field shooting up the place.

The other strategy is a warrior-heavy philosophy that abuses the Monolith and Veil of Darkness abilities to rapidly move your warriors around the battlefield. Monoliths provide a very impressive defensive wall (even if one is destroyed and becomes terrain its still creating a wall) while your Warriors (and maybe Immortals) can be put into strategically defensive positions and then moved up when needed to open fire.

My 1850 Necron List
HQ - Deceiver
HQ - Lord w/Resurrection Orb
TR - 13x Warriors
TR - 13x Warriors
TR - 13x Warriors
HV - Monolith
HV - Monolith
HV - Monolith

You can make a pretty tough list with mainly warriors and Monoliths with the support of an immortal squad. You can normally glance tanks enough so that they cant shoot the next turn ect. This keeps them from destroying you, and if your warriors get sucked into CC you can bring them back out through the Monoliths for some intense rapid fire shots the next turn.

Its a tough build and fun to play.

I should think so... The worst Termie assault squads can do is glance it with a thunder hammer... although the storm shields may present a problem when it comes to taking them out.
Q

EagleArk wrote:I was thinking to run a lord, monolith, 3 Heavy destroyers and as many warriors as i can fit to buff out phase out, any thoughts?

And any list and tactics people use?

DON'T RUN HEAVY DESTROYERS

65 point lascannons that die to bolter fire. They're a horribly liability and usually a free kill point for your opponents.

You don't need them to hunt tanks. That's what regular destroyers are for, 3 S6 shots against side armor is pretty nasty against most tanks, and for everything else you have Destroyer lords equipped with warscythes (5+2d6 goes through any rear armor except monoliths and land raiders).

There are really two or three main strategies Necrons can go.

1) Spam warriors to pad your phaseout count. This strategy is recommended by people who have skimmed the codex or haven't really played Crons since 3E/4E when glances could kill vehicles. You're better off taking the minimum number of warriors and making them count by protecting them with monoliths and a res orb. The above person's list is a good mix of taking a decent amount of warriors and protecting them with an impenetrable monolith phalanx. It's a good general list, but I personally prefer a riskier list that relies on starting out with aggressive shooting and then reverting back to defensive tactics to seal the win.

2)Take absolute minimal warriors, keep them in cover the whole game using the monoliths. Protect with a res orb if necessary, not usually necessary unless at 1750 or above and even then it's a reasonable risk to spend those 140 points on something else. Spend your points on your most potent threats: Destroyers (the best unit in the codex) rip through enemy transports and anything that has a 4+ save. Immortals are amazing against GEQ infantry and are very resilient since they will nearly always get WBB saves unless you're dumb enough to put them in charge range (or fail to immobilize a LR filled with stabby cargo) or get hit with a Vindicator. A Scythe lord on a destroyer body escorted by scarabs can be pretty nasty against non-LR armor and pretty much any infantry that isn't carrying PFs or THs. S3 or 4 can barely scratch him in CC, and when he's got a scarab escort and a phase shifter, he'll turbo-boost turn 1 the scarabs in his unit get a 2+ cover save!) to make it impossible to reasonably damage him on the first turn if you maneuver correctly. I usually send him after a Demolisher squadron, vindicator, or some other annoying vehicle with decent front armor that my destroyers can't hit right on the first turn. I also like to take the Deceiver when I'm not taking an orb lord. His redeploy ability can mess up your opponents' plans nicely, and he's a beast in CC. S4 can't even touch him and your opponent will need some decent shooting to touch him (they usually will, but you've got a decent shot of pinning a unit of devastators/lootas and he will usually make it to CC over the course of the game. And if he doesn't, your opponent spent a lot of resources shooting it, so he's a worthy investment either way.) He's great to hold back as a counter-assault unit for deep-striking dreads or outflanking units, too. Enemies won't get LOS behind the monolith!

3) Melee! These builds suck. The Necron codex is pretty updated so you don't have any decent assault units except for C'Tan and Destroyer lords. Pariahs are too slow and overprices. Flayed ones are overpriced and don't have fleet or PWs, Wraiths are way too costly and you can't take them in a decent enough number to matter anyway, and scarabs, while incredibly useful in many situations, can't be relied upon to score infantry kills.
