A Tsunami is expected in Hawaii in about ten hours or so. I don't think I'll be able to sleep until I hear how that turns out. From what I've read on ATS, this is the result of a massive coronal mass ejection that is striking the Earth's magnetic field this weekend.

That had to be the most anti-climatic Tsunami ever. The whole country was on Tsunami alert. The beach was closed. Sirens all morning. News of non-stop impending aquatic destruction. Friends bringing their valuables over to my place because they live even closer to the beach. 2 metres was the warning. When it came it was a wafty 20cm high. 8 inches. Yippie.

I was at a friend's place watching from his balcony on the 6th floor, but NHK (the Japanese Broacasting Company) showed all the spectators along the coast. Lunacy. Total waste of Sunday. Time to paint.

Earthquakes, Volcanoes, Tsunami's, it's all going on!

We had a ridiculous wind/rain storm Thursday night up here in New England. ~ a million people lost power, I think? Here in NH we had gusts approaching 60mph, and it went on for hours. Trees were down all over the place, the streets full of branches and garbage, street and highway signs all twisted and canted around. One of my staff totaled his SUV evading a big pine down in the left lane on I93 Southbound. Friday morning I drove past the tree, cut off by the highway dept about a foot short of the yellow line on the left side.

I was gaming with friends in a nearby city that evening, but had the bad planning to be running on fumes when I got there, so had to look for gas before heading home. Practically the whole city's power was down, and I had to check about a half-dozen gas stations before I could find one with working pumps. I filled the tank, headed into the 7 Eleven for coffee, and they lost power while I was in there. Glad I filled up the tank first... A few minutes into my drive home the entire sky in front of me was illuminated by a GREEN lightning flash. Never saw that before. It was pretty neat, though freaky. Power was out when I got back, but it was restored ~9pm last night.
