can I make a competive ork army with what I got?

after two ork lists both mech I feel like I want to make an infantry based list, but I want it to be competitive. I already started building my first list when I switched to my second list, so I have some stormboyz some lootas and about 20 shoota boyz. so are there any competitive lists that uses these units?

Re:can I make a competive ork army with what I got?

Well the short answer is...yes.

Ork boyz are a staple of any ork army and many dakkaites post short replies stating, "More boyz." quite often. (which I might add is unhelpful usually)
Shoota boyz will more often than not go footslogging rather than mech, because if you have a transport you should take slugga and choppa for more attacks in assault.
I'm not as convinced with footslogging boyz "must" be shootas. I run my boyz every turn until they can assault the enemy which usually results in a WAAAGH! and more running.

You could go a few directons with the 3 units you've listed.

One might be a green tide with as many boyz as you can with some sort of screen in the front, whether that's gretchin or an 'ard boyz squad with grotsnik.
Could also be a kan wall which consists of 6-9 killa kans with a few squads of boyz following behind with KFF meks as a core.

Lootas can be used as fire support for either of those lists to pop transports and volume of shots on enemies.
Lootas are also thrown in on every kind of list I've seen, though I can't guarantee they should be.

Stormboyz are more often associated with speed freaks or mechanized armies, not as much infantry based. Though I have seen some green tides use them to jet ahead or up flanks.

It seems to me you don't have a ton of infantry yet so you're pretty free to go in a lot of directions. As to the competitiveness of your list, well that's something that people argue about all the time.
It's often suggested green tide is not as competitive as kan wall or mechanized orks. I think any type can be competitive if you build and play your list right.
Personally I'm going for a maxed out green tide just because I don't see many.

What I can suggest is just experience. Play as much as you can with people you know. Preferably if they'll let you proxy a lot of units to try them out. If people are good at anything it's making up their own minds.

Icehawk18 wrote:
Ork boyz are a staple of any ork army and many dakkaites post short replies stating, "More boyz." quite often. (which I might add is unhelpful usually)

I find the advice of 'moar boyz' is said often because it's usually true. It's only unhelpful if they dont elaborate why. IMO, I think any Ork list should have a large core of Boyz (shootas or sluggas, your choice, depending on the type of list you run), to back up any elements of the list's theme, cause every Ork list should be thematic (it's more fun that way, and helps emphasise a particular strength of the ork army). If you're taking mechanised orks, you're needing 12 orks per trukk, or 20 per battlewagon, and with the amount of stuff you can cram into an Ork list, that's still gonna be quite alot of orks. Kanwalls/Dreadbash lists need a sizeable horde to provide anti-infantry roles, as well as holding objectives since the clanky walkers cant do that. If you want a shooty list, Ork Shootas + Lootas provides a threatening wall of dakka. Green tide, well, is kinda obvious. You need to max out ork mobs and get real good at moving alot of models real fast. That being said, it's usually always best to have your ork mobs maxed out in whatever capacity they're in (so 12 in trukks, 20 in battlewagons, 30 if footslogging), with the mandatory Nob with poweklaw and bosspole.

Lootas are good, especially if, once again, you max out the mob size to the full 15. I see alot of people take them, but I dont think they work in every list as Icehawk's said, despite how good they are.

Stormboys I like, cause they're flavourful, but most will say they're not worth it cause a single Stormboy costs twice as much as a normal Ork, and it's only benefit is moving much faster. Imo, I think that's a good enough trade-off, and depending on your list, it can work. In mechanised, they work cause they can keep up with the Ork motorpool, while in a footslogging horde, they provide valuable counter-assault/fast flank opportunities, using the ork horde as a screening wall before they jump out and ahead and bully weaker units so the main boys can get stuck in.

"Moar boyz" is usually said because orks stink in small numbers. To answer the OP's question, shoota boyz are better than sluggas for footslogging, so build those up. Lootas are excellent in most lists for popping transports and other light vehicles for your shootas and other units to blast/assault. Stormboyz work alright in footsloggin' lists as blitz troops to buy your mobz more time to reach the enemy lines. So, yes, you're doing fine. In general, build up your shoota boy mobz, consider building a gretchin/killa kan wall to protect them (with a KFF mek, of course), and build up some ranged anti-tank (killa kans w/ rokkits, deffkoptas w/ rokkits, more lootas, etc.)
