BLACKHAND'S DOZER

Ok so a friend and I have decided to destroy what is left of our social lives by building a 4 x 6 modular ruined cityscape to play 40k, cityfight and necromunda on..yeah I know, not really original but hey we need better terain to play on at our club and we stepped up to build it. I've seen some pretty cool stuff online and am busy stealing ideas left right and centre but there is something I see missing in almost every case...DETAIL!.

It's the stuff with massive detail which really sticks out so thats what I'm going for, I'm not talking diorama level but pretty close. After a bit of brainstorming we decided our city had been blown to bits during an invasion and then had IG regiment move through it on the way to an engagement. This would mean that the roads and several rubble filled blocks would have been bulldozed clear to allow APCs and super heavy tanks to move through easier and in game terms allow better movement and LOS. Of course in the aim of creating lots of detail I felt we would need and abandoned bulldozer somewhere in the terrain and happily I have a MK1 rhino that I had already added a Landraider engine to so I busted out the simple green....

Here she is with 90% of the paint scraped off, I left the rest A) beacause I want it to look weathered and rusted and B) because I'm lazy, so very lazy....

...and here is her beautiful LR engine block.

I covered one of the hatches with the tool wall thingy from the rhino kit.

The other hatch is covered with a landraider door I cut down, really only for the ladder. Note I cut down the MK1 rhino treads and glued MK2 rhino treads over them to make a more realistic look.

A front shot, pretty boring but shows my cheap ass version of plasticard, used gift cards from the bookshop I work at, yes I'm lazy AND cheap

Here is my first version of my dozer blade, I have almost immediately decided I don't like it and will probably look for a toy bulldozer this weekend to cut up and steal the bladed off of.

A close up of my hatchet job of a dozerblade

So there she is! the beginnings of a dozer that will do nothing but add flavour to a small corner of my terrain

C & C is very welcome

Cheers

BLACKHAND

Very nice kitbash! Interesting terrain pieces are always unique. Not enough people make their own... its too easy to just buy Cities of Death stuff and leave it at that, or throw some trees and rocks on.

BLACKHAND'S DOZER

I like the use of the land raider power plant, and also wouldn't the bulldozer's blade have to be bigger if it was moving massive piles of rubble and what not. I am probably more lazy than you and I would have just used a SM Vindicator... but nice job.

BLACKHAND'S DOZER

Good spotting dude, but yeah I work at a bookstore and in order to save on ridiculously expensive plasticard I "borrow" the used giftcards, once they are used they are rubbish so the PIN is of no consequence

Cheers tho!
