				<description><![CDATA[ Missle launchers vs. Laser Cannons, which is better? [I hope this is <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(224);'>th</span> correct forum]<br /> I am using <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(124);'>SW</span> currently. I have had Long Fang units with Missiles and Laser cannons. Which would be the best for the points verse what they can do?<br /> <br />  A <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(80);'>LC</span> can be used to punch a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(87);'>LR</span> where a Missile can only Glance on a 6. For some reason that 1 extra <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(123);'>Str</span> seems to do a lot more with <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(9);'>AV</span> 13 or less, compared to Missiles.<br /> Going by points, a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(80);'>LC</span> cost 2.5 missile launchers. A <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(450);'>LF</span> unit with 4 missiles is 115 pts,( A split <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(29);'>Dev</span> squad could be simmilar).<br /> A unit with 4 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(80);'>LC</span> is only 60pts more. It sounds like a little but seems to add points quick.<br /> Most of the lists I have seen have been all Missile launchers. I did see a listing with <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(80);'>LC</span> and Plaz Cannons.<br /> <br /> This would be a take on all commers list (sort of) because @ <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(38);'>FLGS</span>, I don't know who is bringing what army that week. Sometimes we can't build a list to go aginst a single army. I do bring 1 or 2 lists but they are simmilar.]]></description>

Secondly <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(269);'>Id</span> say it really depends on what your fighting. Im an Orky player, so I pretty much always tell people that against Orks, you cant beat missile launchers. They are free for normal <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(119);'>SM</span> squads (not sure about you <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(124);'>SW</span> lot though) and can either be anti tank or anti infantry. <br /> BUT if your playing against some heavy mek armies, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(269);'>Id</span> say the laser cannon (you mean las cannon right?) would be the best bet, simply because of the punch they pack. ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I think this probably belongs in the Tactics section, unless you're directing the question to your specific list. <br /> <br /> First, there are alot of opinions on this so its hard to get 1 answer. That being said I think most people will agree that Missile Launchers are a better value. The reasons are that they are typically cheaper, they perform nearly as well against lower <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(9);'>AV</span> targets and they have the flexibility of firing Frags if you come across a big horde army. The point about price is probably the most important, as there is a fairly large difference in cost between the two. <br /> <br /> For your Long Fangs, I would go with a majority of Missile Launchers but sneaking 1-2 Lascannons in there wouldn't hurt (assuming the points allow it). ]]></description>

The question is a equipment choice, So I thought it would be a army list forum.<br /> <br /> At 1 time, I wanted a Take on all commers list.-yea right.<br />  My forces are semi-TOAC. I would bring 2 simmilar Infantry lists to the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(38);'>FLGS</span>. I don't know who will show up. <br /> I thought people would have a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(80);'>LC</span> stuck in with missiles launchers with a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(29);'>dev</span>/l.fang unit.<br /> <br /> To take this further: In a turnament only 1 list is used How would people mix a heavy weapon squad. But also take the point cost in to consideration. 1 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(80);'>LC</span> = 2.5 Missiles point cost.<br /> <br /> When people bring a heavy weapons unit in their turnament army, What is on your list? Do you field mostly missiles and maybe a 1 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(80);'>LC</span> just incase of real heavly armored targets.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I either run my Long Fangs one of two ways:<br /> <br /> a) 4 Missile Launchers and pack leader<br /> <br /> b) 3 Missile Launchers and 2 Lascannons with pack leader<br /> <br /> Really this is the only way that I want to equip my Long Fangs, they can still take out armor and lay down suppressive fire against light Infantry.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I agree with Unholy_Martyr, with one slight deviation.<br /> <br /> I was looking at the cost difference between a Long Fangs unit and a normal Dreadnought.<br /> <br /> Guess which one has more fire power for the buck, you guessed it the Long Fangs. The only part that deviates on mine from Unholy's setup, is I only take 4 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(450);'>LF</span> and a Pack Leader, and because my list isn't any larger then 1k pts right now, they're going to be my <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(9);'>AV</span> 14 hitters.<br /> <br /> They're kitted now as the following:<br /> <br /> 2 - <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(328);'>ML</span><br /> 2 - <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(80);'>LC</span><br /> 1 - Pack Leader<br /> <br /> It's the same points value as a Dreadnought with <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(126);'>TL</span>-<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(80);'>LC</span> and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(571);'>DCCW</span> w/ Heavy Flamer. I think its 145 pts.<br /> <br /> But this allows me a bit more flexibility then a Dreadnought and the ability to split fire which is great and use the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(80);'>LC</span> on heavy targets and the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(328);'>ML</span> on softer targets if both are within range/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(85);'>LOS</span>.<br /> <br /> Just my thoughts. And Unholy has definitely helped me out quite a bit on getting my <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(124);'>SW</span> started.<br /> <br /> Peace~]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Thank you guys. Most of you understood the questions and provided valuable information, for me and others reading this forum. <br /> <br /> ??A little more. What Heavy support choices do people use in their generic list. (Not tooled for 1 opponent)??<br /> Not how to use them but what is on the list.<br />   <br /> I am using <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(124);'>SW</span> list. Besides my lists with <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(87);'>LR</span>'s. I am only taking 2 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(57);'>HS</span> choices (don't know why, I have only 2). They have been Long fangs with missiles and a pred Destructor w/ sponson lasers. <br /> <br /> I have been Point pinching, getting as much for as little points. My older lists have 2 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(450);'>LF</span> with 2 or 3 mixed in.]]></description>
